The National Trust has closed their houses, cafes, shops and visitor reception areas following the government’s guidelines to restrict the spread of the
coronavirus. Where possible many of the open spaces are still accessible to the public while adhering to government advice about social distancing. The National trust is also not allowing any of the ‘at risk groups’ to volunteer on site until the situation improves. Due to the advancing years of
Shamrock's 'summer wine' crew, (or Old Salt’s), they have been, in nautical terms, been 'paid off' until the government guidelines change.
