Mowellham 2010

On April 26th 2010 Shamrock slipped her moorings and set course for Morwellham Quay where she joined the 'Garlandstone' in the main dock and spent the next two days filming for the BBC 'Edwardian Farm' historical documentary. The crew was supplied with period costumes and used as extras during the filming. During that time Shamrock was not only sailed but warped into the dock and used the kedge anchor to move her on the river. Most of the filming featured Shamrock being loaded and unloaded with various cargo including livestock, a ram and calf into a temporary pen that had been constructed on her cargo hatch cover. The ram was no problem but the calf had other ideas and was eventually manhandled onboard. A lot of the film was not used in the series except for the calf and a few clips where Shamrock was used as a backdrop. Shamrock finally returned to Cotehele Quay on the evening tide of the 29th April.

Shamrock Photos from 2009

News has filtered through to the crew that Shamrock is still beached on her cradle with her temporary cover still in place. With that in mind it's back to trawling through her photo archive for a Shamrock fix and selecting some from her two 2009 trips, one to Morwellham Quay, for the filming of the 'Antiques Roadshow' and a day sail to Halton Quay.
